Filippo, Please commit your code to your lab as discussed. In my view Apache Ace is a long way and if pyo is obsolete by then we will just archive it. But in my view it is not, as I see pyo mainly addressing developers that want to easy install bundles in their osgi framework (aka provision). So when you have a target framework as any osgi framework + a tool like file install, or servicemix with it's filemonitor or Spring dm Server, so basically any tool that scan a file folder for bundles to provision this is a great tool. Of course that could be used for more as you explained but I would say that the first usage it will be the one I explained. It is a great tool (till now) for copying files form different sources to divers destinations where sources are any standard url, our Pax URL and so on. More in our discussions we were also talked about the concept of extracting the command pattern implementation from pyo and make use of it in other tools as pax runner or pax construct.
Also in the future, once you have move it I will find the time to integrate it with pax runner scanners which will bring new sources for provisioning. @Niclas Take a look here as it is a very short explanation of what pyo can do http://code.google.com/p/proveasyo/wiki/UserManual On Sun, Apr 5, 2009 at 4:33 PM, Filippo Diotalevi <[email protected]> wrote: > On Sun, Apr 5, 2009 at 2:24 PM, Niclas Hedhman <[email protected]> wrote >> Marcel (main proposer) is also a close friend in our Pax community, so >> why not talk to him and see if we should instead aim for a combined >> effort.
