Tizen is a general purpose OS. It is supposed to work on a wide variety of
platforms like PC, TV, Automotive, tablet, phone, printer, camera. It has
everything needed to be a general purpose OS. We do have developers who expect
to be able to build Tizen source on Tizen.

What do you think is missing that keeps Tizen from being a general purpose OS?

Joel

Good analogy. Here's another one:

Engineers and executives of a tractor or lawn mower company drive BMW and Ford
to work because tractors and lawn mowers are not general-purpose transportation
vehicles.

The point is that Tizen is not a general-purpose OS. Self-hosting might be a
nice feature, but it need not be a requirement.
