I agree. James Melton: does your submission of a revised version
indicate that you also agree?

Anyone who has already voted and feels (1) they were voting on the
exact verbiage, AND (2) they don't like the revisions being sent
around today: send something to the list now. Otherwise, we will
probably assume that you were voting on the substantive content and
that you are comfortable with the verbiage adjustments.

I just changed this to:
"General Mailing List -- This mailing list is open to the public.
It is intended for discussions that cross subprojects."
and I am comfortable with it saying:
"...for discussions of issues and proposals that cross subprojects."

I'll give a +1 to either the version I sent a few minutes ago or
what I sent amended as above.
