I don't know yet. The provider is a subsidairy (spelling ?) of UPC (United
Paneuropean Cable, European Big One from the Netherlands) and is named
Chello. Here, where I live, people tend to have much smaller systems,
(average CPU is Celeron) than in the "wealthier" countries, so I doubt
routers and such are not part of the plan. (Tell me if I do mistakes now,
I have no clue about that technology, since the cable is in the streets,
but not in the house so far, I am still waiting, I believe you talk about
external routers/hardware ?!)

What do you mean by multi-homed ? I don't know that expression. I thought
about something like NetStat but continuosly.

As said, I still use an analog modem. I know it is a setting in the Modem
and not in the Stack, however....

...yes :-)...

...it is about making the stack aware of IP and hostname and all that
stuff and actually having a functionality in it, so it goes online without
starting to dial but using the existing connection.

Cool, that sounds interesting. I will have a look at it. Thank you for
info !!!

P.S. What is a sentinal ? (I only know the TV-series, hehe, though I do
not watch that)

Good bye,
