At our user group meeting (AMUSE, meets in Bellevue, WA USA) yesterday, a person who
is working with Amiga Inc. here in the Seattle area, confirmed that Amiga (or
developers like H&P, effectively the same thing for our user purposes) is doing a
native PPC TCP/IP stack for the upcoming AmigaOne/OS4. From the ground up. This is
all I know, but that this is in fact true. And summer is creeping ever closer . . .

:)

I believe that Fleecy Moss has made similar statements in the recent Amiga Inc.
technical postings on ANN and Amiga.org, etc. after the St. Louis show, so I don't
think this is anything new since the Amiga2001 show. My personal hope is that they
will combine much of the VERY easy to use yet powerful approach of Miami/MiamiDx in
the upcoming version of whatever they do with the 'still somewhat alive' nature of
Genesis . . . One can only hope.

Indeed. :| Hopefully there's a viable third alternative on its way - or the
AmiTCP/Genesis problem will get solved.. Any Amiga developers on the list,
capable of telling us little Amigans?-)
