Hi Hiram,

I have the source tree and already built 3 binaries, they are in ~/bin/ ,

-rwxr-xr-x  1 wangp astar 1608624 Nov 26 14:54 hgTrackDb
-rwxr-xr-x  1 wangp astar 1608636 Nov 26 14:56 hgFindSpec
-rwxr-xr-x  1 wangp astar 1606352 Nov 26 14:59 hgLoadBed

And I can load BED data successfully and add track entry to file trackDb.ra
but when do "make alpha DBS=hg18" to encounter errors:
==============================================================================
[email protected]$ pwd
/home/wangp/jksrc/kent/src/hg/makeDb/trackDb
[email protected]$ make alpha DBS=hg18
find . -type l -exec rm {} \;
#cvs -q up -d -P .
./loadTracks -release=alpha trackDb hgFindSpec hg18
hgTrackDb -priority=human/priority.ra -release=alpha human hg18 trackDb
../../lib/trackDb.sql .
Sorted 4 containers
Loaded 1499 track descriptions total
trackDb (encodeRikenCageMappedTagsScore) setting "B" not found for variable
substitution of "$B" in encodeRikenCageMappedTagsScore
make: *** [alpha] Error 255
==============================================================================

Also I update the 'shortLabel' and 'longLabel' instead of "$o" in table
hg18.trackDb,
So the track names no longer appears "$o", because "make" failed, I can not
know if
The track names will change back.

Please give advice.

Thanks & Regards

Wuqi

Do you have the source tree ? Have you been building
the binaries for your genome browser installation ?
If you have the source tree and have been building
those binaries, go to the directory src/hg/makeDb/hgTrackDb/ and run a make.

Everything needs to be kept in synchronization together.
The genome browser CGI binaries and the database tables
and the database loading commands should all be built
and maintained together as one unit.

Please read the information in the source tree files:
        src/product/README.*
