Hello, We think this is likely a problem with IE. You mention several OS/browser combinations. Does Windows with Mozilla or Safari work? Are you using Vista or an older version of the OS? This information would be useful for us to know about.
The problem is also likely linked to the "browse" function for uploading data. Try to just paste in some examples to see if they work. The final work around may be to load the data using an OS/Browser combination that works, saving the data as a Session, then sharing the Session so that each user does not need to maintain their own base-line copy (but can still save personal versions). You mention that customers are paying for the data. This must mean that both you and the users are using licensed copies of the browser. Enabling Sessions for these local licensed installs is possible (it involves wiki and some set-up). Search our genomewiki site for instructions or use the README documents that come with the installation package. If you are not licensed yet, be sure to contact Donna Karolchik to find out if you need to do this and how to do it. Her contact information is on the browser home page and I will forward this email to her as well.
