I agree on both points, however tantive's original post still applies. Whether or not the bot is compromising some semblance of privacy, it's also not allowed to be in the channels in the first place. I log chats when I join an IRC channel, as I would imagine do many others. I have no argument against that type of logging, but I do take issue to a bot logging statistics that hasn't specifically been put into place by the community as an official "log bot". I have no doubt that there are other bots doing much the same thing without the knowledge of the users chatting in any given channel, but from my standpoint, I would rather have one less bot that breaks the rules and causes, potentially, any more trouble than we're already subject to incurring by chatting in full view of anyone that cares to listen. -- Anthony Gorecki Ectro-Linux Foundation
