In shock? Have I disturbed your worldview to that extent? Are you saying
that A.) it's impossible that could be true or B.) It's some kind of
off-limits topic? Do you happen to know for a fact that they don't support
terrorism? Do you personally know all the coders behind Gentoo and what
their political beliefs are? Are you suggesting that only "good" people make
good software and it's somehow ludicrous to suggest that "evil" people could
ever be involved in coding something "good" like Gentoo? What exactly are
you saying with your comment? Sure, I don't believe it's the case that
Gentoo supports terrorism and readily admit it's an extreme case used simply
to make a point, but I find it odd that you would be "shocked" by it.

Yes, there is an obvious misunderstanding here. I was reacting to people who
said that they donate money to Gentoo and *don't care* where the money goes.
I was suggesting that perhaps they should re-think their lack of caring,
because for all they knew Gentoo could be using their donated money for
purposes for which they would not approve. I used the terrorist thing, the
DRM thing, and the Libertarian thing merely as *examples* of stuff Gentoo
could be up to that might not abide by a donator's ethics and thus may be
cause to re-examine their donating strategy.

Unfortunately, you got quite sidetracked by the examples themselves rather
than what I was trying to say. I should have used examples like this to
avoid the confusion: What if Gentoo raised blueberries in their lot and sold
them on street corners, and you are someone who absolutely despises
blueberries and feels they should be illegal to own, grow, or sell? You may
wish to know about Gentoo's blueberry evils and, knowing about them, may
wish to stop donating money to them, regardless of their product quality.
That was my point - simply that I don't agree that folks donating money
shouldn't care about where the money goes because the money may be
supporting things they are very much against.

Please don't respond by arguing why blueberries are perfectly safe and
you're "shocked" to see me suggest they aren't.
