For a 9200 or below, this would work (for 2.4 kernels. 2.6 dri is
up-to-date). Unfortunately the 9600 is unsupported by this driver, and
you need to use the ati binary-only driver.

Unfortunately I have no experience with it (I have a 9200 myself and use
dri).
