Good question, Kevin. When I first got the mb/graphics card combo (made in hell, for linux, I came to realise) I understood nvidia-kernel provided basic X functions and ati fglrxconfig provided the glx stuff. I put nvidia as the driver in the standard vga device section of XFree86Config-4 along with the ati section provided by fglrxconfig. Maybe it is superfluous for drm but after the pain of getting drm to work I feel inclined to stick with what did it. My response to Mark's message to Enno was simply to state what worked for me. I would be glad to see an expert how-to on getting 3d with an nforce2/ati system.
