The workflow for any database supported by jdbc is essentially the same. The
only thing that changes are the database connection parameters. You can
learn about them in the docs [1]. And the dbtype for sql server is
"sqlserver".

An easy way to find out what the exact params are for the REST call is to
first add the sql server datastore manually, and then grab its configuration
with a REST call like:

curl -G http://.../geoserver/rest/workspaces/foo/stores/mySqlServerStore.xml

And yes, i believe you should be able to do this without a line of java code
:) As long as your .net app can connect to the db and create the new table
which i assume it can.
