Hello Jonathan, and thanks for the reply,

I've attempted to create an ImageMosaic but am running into problems:

I attempted to add the new store, I clicked ImageMosaic. At the Add Raster
Data Source screen, I selected the workspace, added a source name, and selected
the path to the index shapefile. When I clicked save, I did not see any
further action. But if I go back to the Stores list, I see the new ImageMosaic
store exists.

Now, if I go to Layers->Add New Resource, and choose my new ImageMosaic store,
nothing more happens, I don't see a list of layers to publish or anything else.

Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Bob

Subject: RE: How to create orthoimagery service?

Hi Bob,
Using an ImageMosaic is the customary way. You take all of your prepared
Images, place them in a single directory and point GeoServer at it and it does
the rest.

http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/data/raster/imagemosaic.html

Depending on the size, the source images should probably be GeoTiffs with inner
tiles, and maybe pyramids/overviews too.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Subject: [Geoserver-users] How to create orthoimagery service?

Can anyone point me to resources on how to build orthoimagery WMS with
GeoServer? I think others have done this before, but I can't find references
on how to do it.

We have a large collection of orthoimagery, all of it tiled into individual
images. At present, these are served via WMS using another server software.
We would like to migrate to GeoServer to serve this data.

Any advice and references would be greatly appreciated.
