I just modified the "fix versions" for a bunch of Jira task.
I would like to make a proposal: Up to date we were trying to give a "fix
versions" to every issues on the basis that "unknown" fix versions fall in a
black hole. I believe that this approach has an unwanted side effect. At least
for myself, when I look on JIRA, the next Geotools releases are synonymous to
"unknown" release to me, so I just never look at the JIRA tasks listed at them.
I suggest to accept the "unknown" status; they will not be forgetten if they
are
assigned to an active contributor. I suggest to choose a "fix version" release
only if we are really planning to work on this issue for that release. I
believe
that "fix versions" closer to the truth will make browsing on our JIRA web site
more valuable.
