Did you simply not read the part "or it was in Gt2 already but we did not notice it"? Anyways, the lite renderer was already there when I first committed, I did not initiate that work. So most probably it was in gt2 before you migrated it from SeaGis. My reply was just trying to state that we did not start the streaming renderer out of the blue after evaluating J2DRenderer, on the contrary, it landed on gt2 when the then called LiteRenderer was already doing, more or less correctly, SLD styling. >> But thanks for the compliments anyways, so is life, someone >> is enlightened by birth, and someone else is condemned to grovel >> in the mud for his entire life :( >> The nice thing about grovelling in the mud is that you don't feel >> alone, Jesse and James tried to use J2D as well, but you know, the >> mud is so charming you cannot avoid going back. > > Andrea, you can said that my renderer is complex. The streaming renderer has been built in many iteration by people needing something working asap under serious time constraints. I was not surprised when I saw Johann saying that it took him some weeks to fully appreciate your work on Renderer2D. Too bad that if you turn those few weeks into sets of 8-16 hours a week that would have turned in various months or work... without considering that each week some of the understanding and context of the previous week was to be rebuilt. You're correct that the math is wrong, unfortunately SR was built under time constraints, in spare time, or under strict sponsoring. Even only the amount of work needed to just grasp it is not going to get enough funding, you're being very lucky to find someone interested in spending money to write something in the core libraries.
