Current formatter.xml has 100 columns. Sun is silent on tabs, so we also specify four-space indenting, not tabs.
Are @formatter:off / @formatter:on supported by other IDEs? As discussed in the PR, I would also like us to reformat XML files, including poms, which are a mix of tabs, four spaces, three spaces, and two or less spaces, sometimes all in the same file.
