color question

I have an eight week old female gerbil, Sandy, who I thought was a dark-eyed
honey. Now she's developing a layer of dark hair, on top of the golden color.
 Is she a golden agouti?  Do golden agoutis always start out this way and
change dramatically?  She has white feet and black toenails. She's from the
first litter of pups from my breeding pair, Schnookums and Peekaboo, an
agoouti and a nutmeg (I think).  Thanks!
