Jasmine had her litter of eight over several hours. I don't know when it
started, but there were 4 at 6AM Wednesday and the rest of them by that
afternoon. She was very nonchalant about it--spitting one out right before
she entered one of the tubes! I'd just watch your mother gerbil. If her
mate mounts her in the meantime it should get labor going better between the
prostaglandins in the semen (I'm assuming since that is how other mammals
are!) and uterine contractions during intercourse, so don't be concerned
about any "shenanigans" between the parents at this time.
