I have a hard time with this color group, too, but the genetics can help
you out if you know anything about the parents. Lilac is aa CC E- G- pp,
Sapphire is aa Cc[b] E- G- pp, Dove is aa Cc[h] E- G- pp. A spotted Lilac
is as light as a Dove.
If all else fails, go to the Gerbil Colour Pallate web site
http://home.wtal.de/ehr/gerbils/colors.htm or one of the others with gerbil
pictures.
Hope this helps,
