This is something I have never encountered. Perhaps, its a stroke and
she may recover. If possible, take her to a vet that specializes in
exotics.
I've got no experience with this, but I would imagine that it wouldn't be a stroke, as they usually affect just one side or the other, not front or back. But I'm not exactly sure in gerbils how that would work, I know that in cats strokes affect either the right or left side, depending on where the blood clot was in the brain.
I was contemplating that perhaps the gerbil fell from the wheel and broke something, as the owner thought, but i would take the gerbil in IMMEDIATELY to a vet!
