On determining gerbil gender...

Before they get much fur, use the dimple method; you can use this method from
about 10 days to 17 days.  Interestingly, males have no no nipples and females

My seven year old and I are at 100% accuracy at indepently sexing pups using this
method (13 pups so far).

Then they get covered up with a heavy coat of fur and you have to use the method
of whether the two "buttons" are close together (female) or far apart (male), see
