You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Lucky you werent reported. Pet Birds and
all live mammals, as well as arachnids(spiders) and other commonly thought
of "bugs" that have 8 or more legs are not legal to ship postally.
Most lizards, tadpoles, fish, certain anphibians, 1 day old bird hatchlings,
and insects (eg: crickets, butterflies etc.) are legal to ship postally.
heres a story you may want to read about soem hobby bird breeders who were
caught and fined recently; they only had to pay $500 (though for a hobbiest,
especially a child as many peopel on this list are, that is ALOT) They
COULD have been fined up to $100,000!!!
There are also court cases that are pubically accessable that emphasis the
illegaility of shipping these creatures (the numerous reasons why) and what
kind of fines and penelties hobbiest who have done this form of shipping
have had to pay when caught.
