ok guys..let's keep the flaming to private, ok? Some of us ship
gerbils..others don't...and that is that! Enough with the attacking of one
another!
<< So your postal office employees don't pay attention to the laws. Big deal.
When i lived in the mountains in NY people walked around on city streets
smoking pot and no one did anythign. that doesnt make it legal, and that
doesnt mean if they went a couple towns over that they wouldnt get in
trouble, or even if soem federal investigator was happenign through and saw
it that they wouldnt arrest them.

How bout you tell me which post office you use and I'll get them in touch
with inspector General and lets see if they keep accepting your gerbils
then? HMM? If you really think its OK to ship animals whats thereto loose?
If you are right, theyll just laugh. If am right... well, you'll
 certainly know!

yes there is an issue of unusual punishment. But the $10000 and 20 yrs in
prison ARE described in federal laws (Title 18), and the are described as
the MAXIMUM. That doesnt mean you WILL be fined 10000, just that they cant
fine over that. Most peopel caught the FIRST time shipping birds or mammals
get fined $500 - 1000. If the animal for example escapes and causes the
post office to have to be shut down because of fear of, chews though
important stuff and causes damages, bites people causing injuries and
hospital visits etc you woudl be liable for those things and be looking at a
much higher fine (but not in excess of 10000)

And maybe judges laugh, but they DO oversee such cases and peopel ARE
convicted of shipping animals/spiders/etc illegally. And then who is
 laughing?
