just to let you know Blanche gave birth last night
to her first litter....I can't tell how many she has had because of the way I
have their tank set-up.....however, it happened at about 5pm(UK) yesterday
evening (8th)
on the evening of the 7th I observed little moving
lumps on each side of her stomach. when I got home from work the next day they
came out to see me as they have learned that I will give them a melon seed each
(their favourite food, which I remove from their mix and feed by hand separately
in the hope of keeping them tame(see previous mail for explanation of their tank
set-up)). she was still quite plump but had obviously smaller than the night
before. Bob and Shy stayed out of the next box for most of the evening, because
of your advice about keeping two females with one male (yes Shy is definitely
female (or gay) if you get my drift) I was a little worried that she might eat
them or fight with Blanche. however this morning I have seen all three sleeping
together with some little pink feet (or tail) peeping out from between them, so
I think they will be allright. I'll keep you informed as to their
progression.
thanks
Colin
