I don't think we are allowed to discuss euthanisation methods on this mailing
list(not that I know of any) but someone may reply to you in private.
When you take on any pet, you have to consider that it may need vetinenary
attention at some time in it's life and just because it is small and not a
Dog or a Cat, we should not deprive them of proper care.
Personally I would rather attempt to save my pet and eat Beans on Toast for a
couple of weeks to afford it than just take things into my own hands.I had to
go short a couple of months ago when I had an outbreak of Tyzzers and had to
pay for autopsies,plus enough antibiotic to treat over 40 Gerbils and
Hamsters as a preventative measure.
The decision is ultmately up to you, but if you do decide to euthanise him
yourself it is probably best you don't announce it as it may upset a lot of
people, especially the younger ones.
