bedding and red noses agin

My 7 gerbils have problem with noses again! every time i change (clean)
the cage they get red bloody noses. i give them paper towels and other
paper stuff, but nothing helps. and i must clean the cage once a week or
even more.
i saw cedar bedding and pine bedding in my pet store. can i use one of
this?
