I'm not certain about that product (we do have Vitakraft here),
are any of or all the shavings reddish brown and aromatic, or
light yellowish in color?
I tend not to trust anything labelled 'bedding for all rodents'
as it might be a blend or even cedar.
[it has to do with manufacturers lying on packaging, for
such things as 'fluffy bedding'....]
Let us know if changing to all paper for one change clears
up the red nose problem or not. If it does, then it's the
bedding you're using. If their noses go red again after
the change, then it's either the disinfectant or soap
you're using to wash the cage...or they get agitated
and are rubbing them on bars or contents while re-arranging
and setting up housekeeping again.
