I think you may be referring to Hartz Bonanza food
for Hamsters and Gerbils. Personally, I think you may be going to a bit
more trouble than is necessary by removing particular items from a mix. I
find that by buying a variety of mixes, my gerbils all seem to get what they
need and are not overweight. I do keep a bag of sunflower seeds on hand
for my young, pregnant and nursing gerbils, and to give as treats to all of
them. But I find that they seem to love Cheerios just as much. I guess my
main message is relax! As long as you are feeding them healthy mixes, and they don't appear to have any problems, why drive
yourself bonkers picking through their food?
