I gave my gerbils a clan name without realizing it, before I even knew clan names existed. It just happened when I named their website The Spice Gerbils. Now that is their clan name even though it doesn't include the word clan. I guess they aren't really a clan yet until they have offspring though? Sorry to hear about Ashwin. But at least, from your website it seems he had a long wonderful happy life with you.
