Since I breed other rodents besides gerbils, I dont
use a "clan" for "kennel" I use "rodentry". Mine is "6th happiness
rodentry". Its just like a kennel or cattery name and identifies your
rodentry/kennel/caviary/clan/etc as where the animal came from.
The proper use is to use your kennel name (or its
initials) as a prefix when you BRED the animal, and as a suffic when you OWN the
animal but soemoen else bred it. For example:
If I buy a critter named "mingaling" that Ravens
Heart Rattery bred, it is named Raven'sHeart MingaLing of 6Th Happiness (or for
short, RHR MingaLing of 6H). I then bred mingaling to patbert and had
babies born in my rodentry. These rats are now all 6H __name___. So
If I place one, named Mingson, back to LeeAnn, it will be Sixth Happiness
Mingson of Ravens Heart or 6H Mingson of RHR. Abbreviatiosn are important
to have because its really hard to fit the full names on pedigrees.
