Because of Minnesotas high humidity in the warm months, I run a dihumidifier and a fan set on low form spring to late fall. It seems to help a lot. I have to keep my gerbies in teh basement with a full spectrum light on during the day. The dehumidifier keeps the moisture down and the fan keeps teh air circulating.

I guess : this is humidity...but any suggestions on what to do about it? I am using : wood shavings right now. My mother says it's because it gets hot in the : house and any moisture in the cage will evaporate to the sides of the cages. : She's probably right, but what should I do? Also, I cleaned their cages : about 3 days ago and today when I re-cleaned them, there was already mold (or : something) growing in the bottom of the cage in some places. That never : happens! Argh....if you have any suggestions, please email me. : : Thanks a bunch! : Heather :
