I need some help, I am new to Gerbils, and have run into a small dilema.  Last Thursday we purchased 2 Gerbils.  A Male and Female.  Well on Monday the femal gave birth while I was at work.  We were unaware that she was pregnant.  Well she had 6 pups.  ;0)  However, the problem comes in:  I need to change the cage bedding.  How do I change the bedding without touching them or the pups?  Also , all the pups were pink when they were born, but now a few of them are turning a black/purple color.  Is that normal?  Is that dark colored hair growing or is something wrong?  The mom is a golden/brown color amd dad is a light tan color with white
patches.  Mom has black eyes, dads are ruby colored.  I have tried looking up info on the internet, but that hasn't been a lot of help, so I am turning to you all.  Thanks  Marciava in North Carolina
