I'm getting off-topic, but I just want to cross-reference to the available
build-information used in the Arch Linux distribution which could help
you to resolve dependencies and build-issues:

There is also a russion localization in a patch along with some build fixes
which could get picked up my mainstream.

I can offer to test the latest git versions and complain about broken
things... ;-)
