Sorry I replied to Chris before reading your response, so what you are
saying is only broadcast programs will end up in the cache, any
additional programs that are available will only be available by PID,

OK that explains similar problems I have noticed in the past where
only some (the current series) is available but previous series made
available at the same time were not picked up and I have had to get
them manually.

Thanks for your time, I think that solves the mystery.

I will just have to be more watchful of what becomes available so I
don't miss anything that I would like to watch.
