Except that in this case, from all the evidence I've seen, it's those who find the new UI confusing or difficult who are (by far) in the minority. There's no pleasing everyone, alas.

with respect, your 'evidence', like mine, is purely anecdotal. Until someone does a survey of the '100,000' users we'll never know for sure. The fact that a lot of 'old hands' as well as a lot of new users don't like the new IDE tends to point to some deficiencies. To dismiss these opinions doesn't help anyone.

If RS stuck with Geoff's keynote statement that the new IDE 'could be used with multiple windows for those who prefer 5.5 (paraphrased)' then there'd be no reason to complain - unless of course you paid your 2005 subscription expecting to get swordfish. Maybe the fact some of the numerous tear-off palette/5.5 IDE feedbacks have been 'reviewed' can give us some hope for change but I'm not holding my breath.

I know RS can't please everyone, but delivering what they say to the people who pay would go a long way towards pleasing most.

BTW, I don't want this to degenerate into another IDE debate so this will be my only post on the subject - I've already 'told' RS how I feel both directly be email, and practically by not re-subscribing.

cheers
