Fortunately it does not use the ugly PS fonts, but instead still uses
the nice Computer Modern fonts.  The downside of this method is that
the result is 1.5MB instead of 1MB with the other method or 0.5MB for
the .ps.gz.

By about 160KB uncompressed and 84KB gzipped.  Another advantage of
the bitmap fonts is that they look better when vieved with gs.  On the
printer they look equally good.
