Don't you think it'd be much better if tools that work on object would
simply do the selection if you, say Alt-click or Ctrl-click an object
with it? Also, a Photoshop-like approach of Alt-right-clicking to open
a menu of all objects/layers that are below the cursor. You don't need
a tool dedicated to the purpose.
