@Jefffrey @andygrove @alamb please review Thanks to @Jefffrey investigations in https://github.com/apache/arrow-datafusion/issues/8696#issuecomment-1875031428 it looks like the issue with newer `rustc` and the next step should probably be a ticket to a Rust team.
