@LikhitaDangeti Sorry for the confusion, I said it incorrectly. A successful GSoC project would not consist of a single PR, but rather multiple features, performance and interface improvements to PyArrow that would benefit the astronomical community and broader Arrow users, mostly related to nested data structures. Since we do not want to overload Arrow maintainers with review PRs solely for our GSoC qualification process, no Arrow-related PRs submitted after the announcement of the GSoC project will be considered during our application review process. Context for Arrow maintainers and others: we are discussing a Google Summer of Code project focused on PyArrow improvements that could support certain astronomical applications (see details here: https://openastronomy.org/gsoc/gsoc2026/#/projects?project=pyarrow_improvements_for_astronomy).
