This message is sent through Pamela McLean on behalf of Chief Gbade Adejumo. Please note that Chief is only with me until Wednesday. If anyone wants to contact him and get a reply it will be better to do so quickly while he is here (and "bandwidth rich") rather than when he has returned to Nigeria.
Pamela McLean ---------------------------------------- Dear GKD Members, My name is Chief Gbade Adejumo. I am the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Oke Ogun Community Development Network (Nigeria). I am on a short visit to London at the invitation of Pamela McLean of CawdNet. Pam brought to my attention the on going debate about Local Government and how it can use IT to improve their efficiency. I am keenly interested in LG affairs because of my background and experience (a rural lad who managed to acquire western education and rose to a high position in government administration before retiring in 1992.) I have noted the arguments. My own little contribution is that whatever is being planned for LGs, let us carry the people involved along if we want to achieve results. It is by so doing that we can achieve a meaningful and lasting result. I have noted Peter Jack's request for contributions to the curriculum development for Rural LGs in Nigeria. I hope the appropriate sectors of Nigerian community is aware of this: the academia, the Labour etc. They should all be involved. All the best, Gbade Adejumo ------------ ***GKD is solely supported by EDC, a Non-Profit Organization*** To post a message, send it to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To subscribe or unsubscribe, send a message to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
