thanks so much everyone. i enlisted the help of my brother and father in choosing frames but they have proven somewhat unhelpful. i will go back and try to find something rounded. my own single vision cat's- eye frames from zenni have a much, much thinner lens than my rectangular pair so it makes sense. i've decided i'm just going to try it, my mom only has one pair right now so even if they are too thick for everyday use at least she'll have something in case her current old pair suffers any trauma (and she is so hard to get christmas presents for!). i'll repost with pictures to let everyone know how it turns out!
these are the two frames i have been considering since finding out progressives should have nosepads for easier adjustment: http://zennioptical.com/cart/product.php?productid=761&cat=16&page=1 http://zennioptical.com/cart/product.php?productid=700&cat=16&page=1 the second pair is more rounded so i think i will go with those although i like the first pair better. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://www.glassyeyes.com!
