They'll both work, but 1.5 index CR-39 makes a _much_ thicker lens
than 1.67 index plastic.

CR-39 also gives noticeably better quality vision, in my experience.
And it doesn't get scratched up quite as easily (but it is still
plastic, so you must be gentle with either one).

If you like big or wide lenses, use 1.67 index, because the outer edge
thickness of your left lens will remain modest. If you favor small,
narrow lenses, CR-39 is a good option for its excellent optical
qualities.

Plastic frames often look OK with relatively thick lenses, while metal
frames can accentuate the perceived lens thickness. So your choice of
frame materials might influence your choice of lens materials.

In either case, get polished edges. That makes a huge difference in
how conspicuous the lens edge thickness is. I have used 1.7 index
glass lenses a few times, which can't be edge polished. The lenses
are thinner than most plastics, but they appear thicker with the
frosted edge.
