I haven't tried to convince anybody in real life to try out online ordering yet, but I'm sure I will. People will probably be skeptical, but $100 (Zenni) vs. $660 (local) is a pretty convincing argument.
I've been posting about my good experience ordering from Zenni on several online forums. Not being able to try on the glasses doesn't bother me. I'm so nearsighted that I can't see what I look like when I'm trying on frames in an optician's store anyway. It helps to have an idea of what sort of frame shapes and sizes look best on you, and that will work with your prescription.
