Thanks to everyone for their comments and recommendations on this board (and pay hommage to our host and creator of Suxottica.com, without whom I would have shelled out hundreds of dollars for glasses)! I received my glasses on the 20th of February (13 days after shipment notice...and USPS is HORRIBLE when it comes to updating their status). They came in a hard plastic eyeglass case wrapped in a microfiber cloth. Some adjustments were required (nose piece, ear pieces needed to be tightened) but I found some of the do-it-yourself adjustment videos on YouTube very helpful. Just to confirm the script was correct, I took them by a local optometrist office and had them checked out. He said, "Script is spot-on and the lenses were cut perfectly. Where did you get them?" I fibbed and told him at another shop in the area. After having worn them for a week, I've adjusted to the new script (mild change in the left eye, right eye was identical and required no adjustment).
Things I like about the new glasses: -frames are in perfect shape and perfectly resemble a pair of Silhouette hinge-less/rimless frames (heck, they even have printed on them "ITALY DESIGN C E") -lenses have absolutely no sharp edges on them (last pair from Davis Vision were RAZOR SHARP when received...optician worked on them a bit, but scuffed an edge in the process) -the drill holes in the lenses have no cracks or discernible defects (wish i had extra plastic tabs, just in case one falls out...) -the dimensions I requested along with the Mono PD was done per request -the 1.67 DAGAS (Korean lenses) are just as good (from what I can tell) to the lenses I had prior Things I don't like about the new glasses: -I've heard that cleaning the glasses is a big no-no (did it all the time with my previous pair with Zeiss coating to no detriment) -having shelled out 1/3 the price of what I would have paid at LensCrafters...OH WAIT A MINUTE! Hmmmm, I think that would be a GOOD THING! (Note to self...oh, nevermind...I'll just pocket the $200 and keep my mouth shut) On Feb 15, 11:12 pm, ElginStill <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey YM > > I'm glad most things worked out for you and I have to agree with you > they do have excellent quality glasses!
