Can I just remind you that this list is about global change. The population
of the USA is only 298,444,215 (July 2006 est.) compared with a
world population of 6,525,170,264 (July 2006 est.) That means that
the population of the USA is less than 5% of the world population, and
so on a global scale is pretty insignificant.
OTOH it is using one quarter [20.03 million bbl/day (2003 est.)] of global
oil consumption [80.1 million bbl/day (2003 est.)].
When are you Yanks going to realise that global warming is a global
problem, and that if you are going to continue being insular and
chauvinistic, then the problem will not be solved? That means that
not only the global climate be destroyed, but so will that of the USA.
Cheers, Alastair.
