I agree in general terms.
But the problem of poverty is complex even in itself.
Material economic development is not always a good thing. It has often
broken bases of self-sufficient way of living of rural people, and also
produced more skewed distribution of wealth, thus created poverty.
I think that reduction of poverty needs to take multiple ways, chosen
case by case. In some cases poor people need to be involved more
actively in the global economy in order to make them wealthier. In
some other cases their interaction with the global economy should be
reduced in order to make them less dependent.
