Thanks for the information.  However, over the entire Holocene, the
maximum temperature minus the minimum temperature is about the same
for the Vostok ice core and the GISP ice core.  Which I found
surprising.

Yes, thank you! I've just finished an analysis of the GISP2 work by
Alley.  I'll post it tomorrow for further suggestions.
