Well, why don't you read them and find out?

Alternatively you could accept this: Geophysicists Urge Steep Cuts in
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The American Geophysical Union says massive reductions in greenhouse
gases will be needed—and scientists should speak up about it
http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=geophysicists-urge-steep-cuts-in-greenhouse-gases

They want a cut by 50% by 2050. With practically all our energy
coming from fossil fuels, then that seems to be to be impossible
unless we cut our consumption by 50%. Obviously, in the
underdeveloped regions of the earth where most of the global
population live at subsistance level, that is not possible. Hence we
in the developed regions will have to cut our consumption by even more
than 50%.

Of course, it may be true, as Wilkins Micawber used to assert, that
"something will turn up."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilkins_Micawber
But all that his optimism did for him was to land him in jail. It
seems inevitable that if we too persist in our optimism, we too will
end up in an unforeseen catastrophe!

Cheers, Alastair.
