I have the snubber cable installed. I think the extremely extended nose gear (without the cable) looks kinda funny in flight. It would appear that it will be stronger due to the laws of leveraging if it is less extended. I will leave mine the way it is since I will from time to time fly off unimproved strips. Keeping the nose gear off for as long as possible is a little easier with the cable.
