If you're doing 120MPH at 2350 RPM, you probably have one mighty course prop on there. The O-200 really prefers to put out 75% power around 2650 below 3000 feet. So some investigation is in order. Also... driving the 'Coupe airframe at 120MPH (if you are) is really getting into the realm of drag exceeding thrust. In fact, if you weren't leaning and the plugs were crummy, that suggests to me that something is bunged up with the way the engine is loaded (prop or tach issue) and that you may be running at a higher power setting than you think. That would cause the plugs to be cleaner than expected. > Climb is better though.
